Introduction
암 연구 및 치료 분야에서 ctDNA 활용은 지속적으로 확대되고 있습니다. 최근에는 특히 cell-free DNA의 CpG methylation(메틸화)을 다양한 용도의 biomarker(생물학적 지표)로 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 보여주고 있습니다. 메틸화는 tumor recurrence(종양 재발), 유전자 발현의 epigentic regulation(후생유전학적 조절)에 대한 정보를 제공할 뿐만 아니라, circulating tumor DNA (순환 종양 DNA; ctDNA)의 조직 기원을 나타낼 수도 있습니다.
뛰어난 정보 가치를 지닌 메틸화 상태가 base-pair level의 시퀀싱 데이터에 추가되고, 메틸화 데이터를 통합하는 분석법이 급속히 확산되고 있음에도 불고하고, 메틸화 연구를 위한 commercial reference material은 oncology(종양학)의 다른 영역에 비해 제한적이었습니다.

이번 SeraCare의 신제품 SeraSeq^® Methylated ctDNA Mutation Mix는 (>90% 검출 가능한 메틸화) 모든 CpG 부위에서 메틸화된 ctDNA로 구성된 low background ctDNA reference material입니다. 이 제품은 단독으로 사용하거나 Seraseq^® unmethylated ctDNA Mutation Mix와 혼합하여 원하는 메틸화된 ctDNA 프로파일을 만들 수 있습니다.
